Out There

I'm reading this book by Madeleine L'Engle (when I have time), called "Many Waters," part of the "A Wrinkle in Time" series borrowed from my 13-year-old nephew.

It supposed to be an 8th grade reading level, but man, it's really out there...traveling through space and time, story lines interweaving multiple generations, heavy behaviorial themes, incredible fantastical characters and planets. I didn't think these four books would be so involved. I was just looking for something fun to read after Harry Potter!

Do you remember reading these?

Yes!! I've read all of them and love them. So sci-fi!

Didn't you think they were really 'out there'? The third book with the different generations of kids who all had the same names but on two different sides of the family--Zilla, Zillie, Maddox, Madoc, Chuck, Charles---was totally confusing!

I like this last one, where the twins get lost in a different time that has seraphim and little people in it!

They were very out there. I should read them again. I totally remember the one about the twins going back in time. Craziness!

love these books! I actually just reread them myself because the box set was at Costco. Plus the set had a 5th book that I didn't know existed. It's about Meg and Calvin's daughter who goes to stay with Meg's parents for the summer.
