Hold me closer Chubby Dancer

This is my latest favorite shot of Sweet Pea--now 17-months-old! (I know, I can't believe it) She was playing with her carseat by the front door. Now that she's a toddler, she moves too dang fast so I almost never get a straight shot of her face AND a smile. Bingo.

Another Mom thing

This is one of Sweet Pea's shirts that ripped from neck to armhole when I tried to pull it over her huge babyhead. In my ongoing attempt to become a real mom, I was forced to SEW. I put it off for days, hoping that somehow it would magically fix itself or not look that bad not fixed, but no such luck. It came out looking quite hacked, as I only had red thread for her hot pink shirt (which makes it double-hacked), and the huge stiches look like I used a Fisher Price sewing kit. But miraculously, it held together after her first try-on/run-around/drool-on/put-in-dirty-pile. Next, cooking.

Last AM shift!

A funny thing happened to me on my way to the bathroom this morning. I stumbled out of bed as usual at 3 a.m., but noticed my husband was not in bed. Guess what? Passed out on the couch in the same clothes as last night with an opened bag of chips and less than half a MAGNUM of wine left. When he comes to, he says "What are you doing up?" Good thing he's "working from home" today. Ha! Hopefully I'll be able to prevent this type of drunkenness now that I don't have to go to bed before both him and Sweet Pea anymore.

I shop at Sears

Ian and I went to Vancouver, BC, last weekend and stayed on Robson Street, which is shopper's heaven. But where did I get three FANTASTIC tops (2 Hilfiger, 1 Mexx), one which is now the favorite in my entire closet? It was SEARS, dear! I know, I know, but if you've ever been to the one on Robson, it's not like Sears in the US, it's more like Macy's, I swear! They have Makeup Forever, Shiseido, Guess and all sorts of name brands. It's a parallel universe!

"Craa-kuh"

"Craa-kuh"...is one of my 1-year-old's favorite words. And mine, as well, because if it weren't for Ritz crackers, Tia might starve to death. She's on a self-imposed all-carb diet and when she walks, she leads with her belly.

AM Shift

After more than two months of getting up at 3 am, I'm on the last week of doing the AM shift---thank goodness! I don't know how some of my friends do it! Sure, I have the whole day ahead of me when I'm done, but is it really worth going to bed at 7 pm??
